The Bad Hombre

Traditional American peaches and mint are muddled with migrant liquor and chili peppers from across our southern border. Decorated with a piece of our somehow crumbling but as-yet unbuilt border fence

STEP 1. Gather the Ingredients:

2 oz. tequila reposado
1.5 oz peach shrub syrup*
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
mint leaves
jalapeno pepper
ice
martini glass
toy fence
Step 2. Assemble

In a cocktail shaker, muddle one slice of pepper,  4-5 mint leaves and tequila for 15 seconds.
Add syrup, lime juice and ice. Shake for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Serve

Strain into a chilled martini class, serve up.
Garnish with a slice of pepper and decorate with fencing.

*Peach Shrub Syrup (from America's Test Kitchen)
2 cups fresh or thawed frozen peaches
1 cup sugar
6 oz water
2 oz cider vinegar

Bring fruit, sugar, water to boil, reduce heat, simmer 10 min. Remove from heat, mash with a potato masher or blend with immersion blender. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve. Mix in vinegar. Keeps in refrigerator for up to 1 week, shake well before using
